Last month, we had the pleasure of visiting Ca Pietra’s headquarters in Devizes, Wiltshire, a destination that has long been on our radar. As a family-founded British stone and tile specialist, Ca Pietra has built a reputation for sourcing and crafting some of the most beautiful natural materials available today. Their collections span everything from marble and limestone to porcelain and hand-painted tiles, supporting both residential and commercial projects across the UK and beyond.

From the moment we arrived, it was clear that this was far more than a showroom. The space has been thoughtfully designed to inspire, with each display carefully curated to showcase the versatility and character of their materials. Beyond this, their expansive stone yard and highly advanced workshop offered a deeper insight into the craftsmanship behind the finished product.

We spent the day exploring each part of their process, and it was genuinely fascinating to see how everything comes together. From the artistry of hand-painted tiles to the precision involved in templating large-scale stone slabs, every stage reflects a commitment to quality and detail that truly resonates with us.
One of the standout moments for our team was seeing a slab we’ve been considering for a master ensuite in one of our current projects. Experiencing it in person completely transformed our perspective — the caramel and soft pink undertones revealed a depth and warmth that simply can’t be captured in samples or photographs. It’s these moments that remind us how essential it is to engage with materials first-hand.

We were also given the opportunity to explore their wider collection of quartz and marble, before meeting with the templater who will be collaborating with us on site. Watching him carefully map out a complex, curved stone piece for a commercial project was incredibly impressive, a true demonstration of both technical skill and meticulous attention to detail.

The highlight of the visit, however, was undoubtedly the workshop tour. Seeing the machinery in action and understanding the level of expertise involved in bespoke stone fabrication gave us complete confidence in the process. It’s one thing to admire a finished surface, but another entirely to witness the craftsmanship and precision that goes into creating it.

We left Devizes feeling inspired, reassured, and excited to bring these materials into our own projects. Collaborating with specialists who share our appreciation for quality, detail, and considered design is something we value deeply, and Ca Pietra exemplifies this at every level.
